A Cheesecake Pancake? Why the Hell Not?? ;)

International House of Pancakes has just unveiled its newest creation -- the Cheesecake Pancake. Dear God, help us all!! I'm renaming it "A Quick Ticket to Your Fat Pants on a Plate". And if you have it more than once a week, it will be!

Apparently, the new trend in fast food cuisine is getting the MOST calories you possibly can into ONE food item. Not to be beaten by KFC's "Double Down", a sandwich with two pieces of fried chicken as the bread, I Hop decided to see 'em and raise 'em on that one. While I do think that KFC is gonna win this hand, I'm still awesomely amazed at the pure balls I Hop has in coming up with this thing....
I mean, WOW!

I Hop's new "Cheesecake Pancake" is a pancake, then cheesecake, and another pancake, covered in strawberries, blueberry or cinnamon apple compote, with whipped cream on top.
Stay tuned for their next creation -- a big heaping bowl of lard, butter, whipped cream, syrup and powdered sugar on top of cake. They're still trying to figure out a name for that one, but no worries...they'll figure that out later!

I Hop did not provide any nutritional information for this lovely creation. Hmmmm..... I wonder why??? :/

The pancakes will be available through June 20 at participating IHops. I'm guessing only until then because they do have a conscience?? Um, yeah...

Well, good luck to those of you that do dare to clog up an artery with this one! Looks like a fun way to die, I swear! Go for it! I could use a few new clients! Mama needs a new pair of Skechers!! And a new yoga mat. Please!;)

What caloriffic monstrosity will they think of next??? One can only wonder! In the meantime, I might have to go to I Hop and do some field research on this one -- just once! ;)

Need Help for Improved Digestion?

I have lately been experiencing some minor digestive issues, and I always manage to find something out here that helps me eliminate whatever problem it is I'm facing. Following some of the detox strategies in this book I'm about to recommend entitled "Renew Your Life" is actually helping me to rebalance my digestive system. Mine tends to go out of whack about once every so often, and after doing some type of a cleanse, it usually clears itself up. This book is a very helpful and informative read, and some of the techniques the author, who is a colon and digestive care specialist recommends work pretty quickly.
So, if any of you out here are going through any gastro-intestinal issues, you might want to check it out. This is a pure recommendation -- I am not affiliate marketing this book. Hopefully it will be of a help to you, too.

From the book jacket:

"Whether the body experiences minor symptoms like fatigue or heartburn or already has such conditions as fibromyalgia or irritable bowel syndrome, the process of healing and restoring the body to health involves taking certain steps. It is critical to good health and the immune system that the right ratio of good bacteria to bad bacteria be maintained in the intestines..."

I'm also going to give a link to the Q&A section on her website. Very helpful, and you can also look there to see what advice she has to alleviate any digestive issues that you might be having. There is a ton of info on this forum where she answers quesstions directly: http://blog.brendawatson.com/forum/?doing_wp_cron

Take care, and good health to you!

"Things To Do Thursday"

Are you all sick of my day-of-the-week themed posts yet? Well, I'm not! And I've got to tell you, once you start doing them it's like crack -- you just can't stop. Not that I know this from personal experience or anything. :D
So, here's another one, and I must admit, this one is more for me than it is for you. Seeing this staring me in the face every time I look at this page might help me actually get all this stuff done today. Oh, and I got this idea off of Stay at Home Mom, who was doing a Meme from somebody named "SupahMommy", who got this cool linky idea from an app created by this guy over here: Superstickies. Hey, when I borrow something, I'll at least give you credit for it, much like leaving a note on your parked car after I've sideswiped it.
Happy Thursday! ;)

Flashback Friday

"Fitness Diva's Weight Loss Tool #2". Somehow I still haven't made it to #'s 3 - 10 in video form, but hey, a diva does get busy. I did this vid in January 2009, and so, it's a flashback! And still some pretty good advice that I actually do use for myself.
Enjoy! ;)

Stop Trying to "Loose" the Weight and Just LOSE it!!

Ha! Yes, I'm being a bit naughty here, because you know I'm picking at all the writers out here that have weight loss blogs and write weight loss articles, but don't use the word "lose" as in "lose weight" properly! Not trying to be mean, but I did wake up feeling just a bit snarky today! ;)

Don't you just love misspellings on the web? I think some of them are cute. But you know what? I got to thinking about "loosing" the weight as opposed to "losing" it, and ya know...they just might be onto something there.....

You can imagine the word "loose" in the context of 'shaking something off of you'. I just realized today that I've heard it used like that before!! And here it is, used in great style by the very soulful R&B duo, Ashford and Simpson, nestled within the lyrics of "It Just keeps Hangin' on". Actually, these lyrics are quite appropriate when juxtaposed with the concept of trying to lose or, excuse me, LOOSE some weight! This song should actually be a weight loss anthem! Here is an excerpt from the song! See how it DOES make sense!

......

From "It Seems to Hang On"

by Ashford and Simpson

(It seems to hang on) Why
(It seems to hang on)

Like a snowball rollin' down the hill (It seems to hang on)
I look behind me, it's there still (It seems to hang on)
Ooh, like a shadow it follows
Oh...oh...oh...oh...oh...

Oh...loose me, loose me, loose me please

I can't go nowhere
I can't be the same
I don't know my name
I can't understand just why

(It seems to hang on)
(It seems to hang on) I can't shake it
(It seems to hang on) I can't shake it
(It seems to hang on)

Like a snowball rollin' down the hill (It seems to hang on)
I look behind me, it's there still (It seems to hang on)
Ooh, it follows like a shadow
Oh...oh...oh...oh...oh...oh...

Oh...loose me, loose me, loose me please, please
Please
{Hey} Hey

Now, if that isn't a song about trying to shake off some damn weight, I don't know what is!!! OKAY. So, now that I can relate it, I will no longer be so picky about whether someone decides to use the word "loose" or "lose" when it comes to weight loss!

If you stretch the mind just a bit, it CAN mean the same thing!! Now, whether you plan to loose it, or lose it, just go ahead and DO IT, okay? We won't be checking for any errors! ;)

Me, Jared and Breakfast at Subway

So, I stopped by Subway the other day to meet Jared. Well, not only to meet Jared, but also to try out a Subway breakfast for a change. Subway wants everyone to know that they are now offering new, healthy breakfast options on their menu, and I have to tell you, the sandwich that I did try was pretty good! I'm already a fan of the Subway $5 foot longs (although I try not to eat them every single day!), and hey, I got personally invited to this thing. Who am I to pass up a free breakfast AND a photo op? Here is the photo op:

Too bad the photo is not in any way scandalous, because then I could finally make it into the tabloids. However, I must really laugh at how I posed here. Don't I just look like I think I'm the queen of all Subway restaurants? Sometimes I really crack me up! :)

Anyway, they also gave me goodies! And I'm giving them all away! Just comment on this post, and I will pick 3 of you (randomly, probably out of a hat) commenters to receive a $10 Subway gift card! How about that? A couple free meals won't kill ya! And don't forget to check out the new breakfasts at your nearest Subway location. I had the Black Forest Ham with egg and cheese, and would absolutely get that again.

Here is a calorie and fat breakdown of a few of their breakfast sandwiches

Black Forest Ham, Egg & Cheese
7 grams fat, 180 calories

Egg & Cheese
6 grams fat, 170 calories

Western Egg & Cheese
7 grams fat, 180 calories

Double Bacon, Egg & Cheese
10 grams fat, 220 calories

Steak, Egg & Cheese
7 grams fat, 190 calories

They are also made on whole wheat English muffins, so in addition to being a low calorie breakfast sandwich option, that fiber will keep you from being hungry for a while. It worked for me! ;)

By the way, Jared is really a pretty nice guy. I got to interview and talk with him at length, and he really is a great product ambassador for the company, on the road about 200+ days a year. And you thought he was just sitting around eating Subway sandwiches, huh? Not at all, they have him touring both the US and all the other countries that feature Subway restaurants all year long. I was trying to pump him for info on how to get this type of job -- you're well paid, famous, and well fed for as long as it lasts. Sounds like my kind of gig, and just in case you're listening, Red Lobster or Olive Garden, I am available! ;)

As far as the "Subway Diet" goes, Jared lost 245 lbs just eating those sandwiches. I asked Jared if he also works out, because, hey, you can't just diet, right? Well, not only does he work out, but he is also in training for the IMG New York marathon this year. I told him to be sure that they get the money shot of him crossing the finish line with a Subway sandwich in one hand. I wonder if they'll do it?? If they do, remember, MY IDEA and you read it here first! ;)

Anyway, those of you that want a chance at these gifts cards, go ahead and leave your comment. I will pick a winner on April 15th. I just picked that date randomly, for no reason. Okay, good luck, and I hope you win! ;)
