He's Baaa-aacck!

Apparently, a new independent documentary that deals with some searingly honest truths about the life of Mike Tyson is all the rage at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.
"Tyson", directed by James Toback, and narrated mostly by Mike himself, goes into seriously intimate details about his personal life, especially his obsessions for sex and women. It also deals with some of his self destructive behavior. It's said that the movie is so good and in it's own way, poignant, that Tyson is receiving standing ovations and much acclaim for this work, and also for having opened up so completely for the film. I'm guessing that this film is a must see, folks! I can't wait until it officially comes out. Hopefully this marks a new, positive direction in the life of Mike Tyson.

Hi Fitness Diva,

If this film is going to be a positive turn around in the life of Mike Tyson, I'll wait for your review before I actually spend time on it.

I'm not certain if these are a collection of justifications for his bad behavior. Just because you got a raw deal necessarily means you have to give others the same thing. If he was used or duped, well so were a lot of people, but they never had to do what he did.

I'm just uncertain how much of this is hype and how much is fiction, and what remains as truth. Frankly, I'm wary of these Hollywood types who would sell anything to rebuild a brand or create a new image for it. Being poor, even uneducated is no excuse for bad and abusive behavior. If however, he really wants to change, well and good. But he should start with the truth, and that is what I expect to see in the film. :-) --Durano, done!

Two sayings come to mind:

- Never give up on anyone's life.

- History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce.

Hoping for the former, wouldn't be surprised at the latter.

BTW, this may have happened before, but at my blog, a visitor has pointed out an interesting image in the juxtaposition of your photo and hers in the Blog Catalog widget.

Mike is always going to be Mike Tyson if it is a positive direction it should be as we all grow up one time in life.

The fact this guy had so much success at an early age he seems to still have the youth he once displayed as the worlds youngest heavy weight champion ever. Now this is something he can show himself that it's time he got his head screwed on straight.
