Yoga in the Middle of Times Square

...and I'm gonna be right there! Each year, an event called Solstice in Times Square gives outdoors yoga class right in the middle of Times Square with all the tourists, traffic and usual mayhem of TS going on all around. We will be in the heart of it in Duffy Square, that little triangle where people usually line up to buy Broadway show tickets.

I CAN'T WAIT! I'm not the biggest yoga follower, but to me, this is an opportunity not to be missed! So if you happen to be passing through Times Square sometime later tomorrow, you might just catch me in the middle of a warrior pose, a tree pose or a downward facing dog! I am SO going to represent! This is a yoga event of epic proportions, and I'm so excited to be a part of it! See you in Times Square!

Hi Fitness Diva,

Sounds like a fun event, for those who are participating and for those who are watching.

If there are many participants and doing things at the same time - with the more difficult poses visibly exposing those who are having a hard time performing it - that would also encourage watchers to cheer them on or imitate the pose to see how difficult it really is.

Yes, it looks like fun. I hope no one stays near you with a pizza spewing its odor all around. That would be distracting, wouldn't it? LOL! Good luck and hope the enjoyment is greater than what you imagined. :-) --Durano, done!

dude! I got there and whipped out my camera only to see my little battery blinking on zero! I was too through!
The scene was awesome!

I would love to have gotten a pic of the sky as we lay on our backs in the middle of Times Square. It's a sight i will never forget. It's something one never really gets to do, and that alone was mind blowing!

They did, however, have a battery of photographers there, so I'm sure to be able to find something to post over here when they're out.

and the tourists went nuts snapping pics of us. I'm sure we are now on view in states and countries from here to there, on various folks' cameras.

The whole event was great and fun!
