The 26th Mile at the 2010 ING New York City Marathon

This was my first time attending the NYC Marathon and man, am I glad I did! It was a straight up party, for real! ;). I was there cheering on a friend, but once you're there, you get so caught up in the excitement of it all. Everybody's cheering, clapping and holding up signs... and some of those runners are some characters! Literally! I saw Sponge Bob, Minnie Mouse, and a 70's style LA Laker cross the finish line!! OMG! Being there also made me think about possibly doing it one of these years myself. Who knows....I might possibly be coerced into this thing.... ;)
To all who ran, you are the best! You have so inspired me! ;)

Ran my first marathon to celebrate my 40th birthday six years ago. I have no desire to run another, but I'm proud of training and completing that. Especially since it was less than a year after having my sixth baby. Didn't help me lose the weight I thought it would, but an accomplishment nonetheless.

Cool!

I have always wanted to run a marathon. I am still in the process of getting fit right now, but it is in the near future for me for sure! :-)

I have never wanted to run a marathon, and watching this video reminds me why...

I thought it was going to be some boring old site, but I'm glad I visited. I will post a link to this site on my blog. I am sure my visitors will find that very useful.

I've never run a Marathon, but i'd like to do this in future. Thanks for sharing your experience of cheering for your friend...

I ran my only marathon at age 46; but also ran five half-marathons that same year. After I moved to Montana, it was just too cold to train all year round, so I lapsed. Now I am a spectator only. I would encourage everyone to train and try it just once. Heck, if the Biggest Loser contestants can do it, most anyone can.

I use to run and had dreams of running a marathon. Then I got lazy and stopped stretching properly and ruined my legs.

Even long walks are painful now. I can't do my aerobics anymore either. I loved running and wow I could eat anything and still stay in shape.

It's very important to Stretch before and after.

Thanks for stopping over. You were among the 1st 3 commenters and you got some linky love.

I am running late to day. I am working with my friend to get up a Christmas Celebration page.

We're having a blog hop from December the 23rd through the 27th where everyone can share some fun stuff and visit everyone.

The page should be complete soon. I hope you will join in on the fun. LJ designed a great badge for everyone to grab and on the big day, there will be plenty of linky love!!

Drop by a little later if you can. check it out and get all of the details.

Happy day!
Jackie:-)

I know that all the calorie burning that this amount of running will do is the best incentive! I'm dying to go back to my old, pig 'em out ways! lol!
