Spring Tune Up

It's already March!! Crazy, isn't it? So, spring is just a couple weeks away, basically. Funny thing is, with this eerily warm weather we've been having lately, you won't have to wait long before the overcoats, sweaters and outer layers are all gone.
There will be no more hiding those belly rolls!

If you haven't already, now is the time to really get your exercise program in gear.
Start small, so you don't overwhelm yourself. A 30 to 45 minute jog, run, bike, or swim 3 x a week, or pop in an exercise DVD that you like and DO IT! Once again, 3 times a week is what you'll need to commit to to make a difference. After you get into the swing of things, start to add more time to the activity, or add a couple more workouts to your schedule. And be sure to include some weight training in your plan. The first couple times out will be hard, but tough it out, and do it.
You'll feel so much better afterwards.

Start getting your fitness on now, and there'll be nothing to hide when that sweater finally does come all the way off in a few weeks!

, tune up

Hi Fitness Diva,

Good segue from winter to spring, and after all that heavy eating, when the sweater comes off... Yuchhhh all that flab flowing down from their waist made bulging by the uncomfortable pants that remains at 32" when the waist is now 38".

Nice motivation technique to get people to exercise. You sure know your stuff and you do it well. --Durano, dine!

Have any tips to get the belly flat?

I've been working out for five months straight and cannot get rid of this stomach.

I read the article. Thank you.

Hopefully I'll see the change come beach time.

It's not easy, Urban, trust me, I know. Even for a full time fitness instructor. I have my times of the year when I put on extra weight from indulging in holiday goodies, and then once you start that, the good eating habits take a back seat. I look down and can't see my little 4 pack anymore, and I say to myself "SO not fair!". But then, just before the weather warms up, I work on getting back up to my personal fitness standard pronto.
I'm one that likes wearing the belly shirts and midriff baring things in the summer. Can't be sporting flab and rolls, now can we?
Good luck, and I know you'll do it!
