And Now for Some Meditation.....
With all that we have to deal with in daily life, a little meditation now and then can reap tremendous benefits. Not only does it help to relieve stress, but it can also help you to heal your body, and can also help you focus on achieving certain goals.
There are many forms of meditation that you can utilize. There's no one particular way to do it. Just choose the method that works best for you.
The one that most people are familiar with is the seated meditation, where you sit with legs crossed and eyes closed, slowly trying to relax and quiet the body and mind. That's the one I use when I'm trying to get some focus.
Other forms include chanting meditation, breath meditation,
walking meditation, and visual meditation, among others.
Since I'm no expert on any of them, I'm going to recommend a couple great websites where you can learn much more on the subject:
Meditation Station
Mastery of Meditation, Yoga & Zen
As part of keeping a healthy body and mind, meditation is definitely something to add to your health and fitness arsenal!

Nice post Fitness Diva!
Meditation is definitely a wonderful form of enlightenment that enhances the mind, body and soul.
At this stage of the life game, peace of mind is more important to me than all else. When I am at peace, everything else falls into place.
Just what I need right now. This post is right on time.
About to go sit Indian style and get my mind right.
Hi Fitness Diva,
This is something I do at the end of each day, or at least when my activities for the day are finished and I'm ready to go to bed.
In the mornings, I think about what I'm going to face in the day and take about 15 minutes to do some meditation.
I agree with your post. It is a big boost that will set your mind and body in the proper mode, mood and perspective. Excellent suggestion, great post! :-) --Durano, done!
I'm all for some meditation if I could ever find a moment's peace with a new baby.
Hi Fitness Diva, thanks for the comment...Yes, autumn is here. gee, YOg! How I wish I could do this, but I have no time, another thing is I'm too lazy.
Thanks for the reminder. I need to go back to Meditation.
awesome! I'm doing yoga at home...I just bought a DVD just so I can do it anytime I wanted...thanks for some insights and some tips!
Hi,
Thank you for your comment and advice.I appreciate it to be honest.
Take care!
Thanks for your comment at my blog. I really enjoyed this post and it is just the info I have been looking for. I am getting into meditation myself lately, and your insight and resources will be a great help to me. :)
This is something that I am really, really working on. I have such a hard time clearing my mind. I will check out those sites so thank you!
Meditation...!
I always have a hard time trying to relax and meditate. Think I need someone to help me with it!
Meditation...the good thing about it is it's free, and when you have enough practice, you can do it in a crowd. This is something the body and mind NEEDS.
I feel that adding some relaxing stretching and meditation to my fitness routine really helps to relax all of my muscles as well as my mind.
Hi Fitness Diva,
Great to see you spreading the wisdom of meditation with your readers. Thanks for mentioning my blog (Mastery of Meditation, Yoga & Zen).
Cheers,
Anmol
This is something I should add into my weekly regimen a bit more often.
I don't meditate enough.
By the way, thank you, Anmol, for your amazing, informative website.
I will visit again to learn more about meditating and yoga.
no doubt about it, there are so many benefits to using meditation daily.
Actually I do it in the morning plus yoga. Relaxing your mind can help you think fresh ideas and will improve your memory.
I started meditating about 6 months ago and love it.
I started out once a day and now meditate twice a day.
In the morning right after I wake-up and in the evening before I go to sleep.
It's one of the best things that I have ever done for myself.
I highly recommend meditation to anybody who is considering it.
Peace. :)
I definitely need to do some meditating.
Hi Diva, Yoga! Im dreaming to do it for ages but i have no time and extra money for it that. I bet it's expensive in here. or maybe I'm really lazy. forgive me.
A few months ago I did a silent retreat which included a whole day of meditation. I was afraid of the silent part but made it through. When I got home I was so relaxed I didn't even feel like talking!
I meditate every morning, but most ppl think its something weird and don't get the point...
...we excercise our bodies but rarely excercise the mind and spirit. Some other resources include CipherSearch.com and the best of all The Metu Neter...check it out and tell me what you think.
I meditate from time to time, just to cut down on my stress levels. I have so many things going on at once, sometimes I just have to close my eyes and relax each part of my body, to calm myself down.
