Cool Body Facts #1

COOL BODY FACTS

I feel that it's imperative to know as much as you can about your body. After all, you only get one, right? So, you really should know as much as possible about this valuable piece of real estate! That way, you can take the very best care of it. Here are some fun body facts to know, starting up top, with the brain.

Betcha didn't know that.......

You cannot tickle yourself. The cerebellum of the brain warns the rest of the brain that you are about to tickle yourself. Because your brain knows this, it ignores the sensation.

People who get on roller coasters have a higher chance of getting a blood clot in the brain.

Your brain is made up of 80% water.

Once you reach the age of 35, you will start losing approximately 7,000 brain cells a day. These cells will never be replaced.

Your brain is move active and thinks more at night than during the day.

WOW! I'm a bit upset about the losing brain cells fact! I mean, is it just ALL downhill after 30??? I thought I'd get more brainy with age! Hopefully these scientists will figure out something to do about that one! Please! :)

I'm not digging it either, Lux! You should get something more than just gray hairs, saggy skin and loss of the old gray matter for all your years! lol

I'm in serious trouble too, ktales, just based on all the partying I did from 18 yrs on! Oh, the brain cells I wasted!! :O

Loosing brain cells after 35, 7K a day!?!?!?!? Have heard though if a person speaks more than one language, that helps keep the brain "fit" since you use more brain cells and fights off Alzheimer's.

We are staying far, far away from roller coasters!

I'm now 40 and I wonder why I will walk through the house and half way I stop and think...."Where am I going and what am I going there for?"! Maybe this can be attributed to the loss of 7,000 brain cells every day!

Hi again.

If I didn't misunderstand you, you intend to give me a link. Thank you.

If you link me, I will link you back.

Cheers.

Don't be too alarmed guys. The brain does have around 100 billion brain cells anyway, so it'll take a pretty long time for you to lose them all! :)
But that certainly does explain why the older you get, the harder it is for you to remember your name!

Wow, after only 35? I wish I had have known that when my parents would always insist they were smarter than me, lol (of course they were/are, but that's besides the point).

I like the fact about tickeling yourself. I have tickled myself before, but only on accident, which is why my brain didnt warn myself first. Sounds funny heh.
