Ok. How many countries out there can say that one of their leaders has just put out a how to martial arts video? Well, Russia can!
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin just released his first instructional video on the fine art of Judo. This creation of this vid is just one of the ways he has decided to celebrate his 56th birthday. Way to do it, Vlad! Now, that's just bad ass, isn't it?
"Let's Learn Judo with Vladimir Putin" is a collaborative effort between Putin, who is a one time judo champ in his home city, St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad), Olympic judo champion Yasuhiro Yamashita, and a few of his judo practicing associates.
Showing off his masculine prowess is nothing new for Putin. He is becoming known in the media for his sometimes over the top "he man" antics, which include being photographed shirtless on a fishing excursion, and tracking a tiger through the Siberian forest.
Proud of his commitment to physical fitness, Putin has cast himself as the ambassador of physical fitness for his country. Will his new judo video impress the Russian public and the rest of the world at large? Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Gotta love the cojones on this politician, though. Only in Russia, eh?
