Fight the Fat Friday!

Mmmmmmm! Look at that!! Don't those donuts just look AMAZING and indescribably delicious?? Don't you just want to reach out and grab one?? You KNOW you do! ;)

But you know you shouldn't, right? Especially if you're trying to stick to a pre planned meal regimen and are making a true effort to cut down on the sugary and fatty treats that get you in trouble in the first place.
The thing is, even if you've already been really good, just having one of these can open up the floodgates on your sugar cravings, and then one will turn into two, and then there you'll be craving even more sweets tomorrow and the next day, and the next day. One NEVER ends up being just one, so don't even start!

Would you be able to walk right past that plate of donuts if you saw it sitting on a table at a friend's house, or at some social function you're attending? How about at your children's play dates? Would you have the discipline to just hand them out to the kids without indulging in some yourself?

Here are a few things you can do to tame that sugar beast!

* Drink water! We can't say that enough! Especially before going out somewhere.

* Go for the nuts - these will help thwart the food cravings

* Get your daily servings of fruit. That's some healthy sugar for your body - not that processed stuff!

* Eat before leaving the house. You'll be less susceptible to impulse eating if your stomach is already full.

* Picture that donut on your thighs or belly, and then think of a cool, form fitting outfit you have that you can't fit into yet. That donut + that outfit = NO WAY, JOSE! ;)

There are all kinds of ways to keep from reaching for those donuts (which here symbolize all fatty foods), but it's in those moments of weakness that you have to use some common sense and also a couple of strong preventative measures.

So, walk away from the donuts. I challenge you! ;)

Oh No! You wrong for this one! I'm hungry and now my slim fast doesn't seem as appealing. Your tips are good to remember.

I wish I had read this before lunch... I have been so good for about a month straight and today my friend at work and I walked to the mall during lunch. We ended up getting a slice of cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory... :/ It's the first time I've done it in FOREVER, and I came home and did my exercises, but I know it was still bad. I'll remember this post next time they tempt me!

That was just plain evil! Here I am drooling over a high-resolution picture of donuts. I think I'll need to sneak out of the house and grab myself a jelly filled donut or two or three...:) Have a great weekend!

IMO those donuts look plastic = not appealing. I feel like if I bite into one... soon I'll be chewing on my own teeth.

But you got some good tips. I wrote about the same subject on my blog when a client asked how they should avoid "cravings".

Another thing to try, suck on a lemon. Kills appetite, so use it only when you feel those urges coming on!

Hmm, something tells me that I prolly just started a lemon-diet craze.

I try to find your contact info between all the ads. I am in a search for a female expert on fitness and health (I also like your Sex and Fitness blog, btw) to write something on my blog for women.

I'm walking away although they are very tempting.

I have managed to lose 3 kg since January by cutting down on excess carbo. Yeah!

How can you do that to us. Showing us that yummy picture is just so tempting. That's okay, because I haven't eaten a donut in years. I used to love Krispy Kreme, they are the best, but then I found out how much fat there was in each donut. They are really bad for you, with virtually no nutritional benefits. Ever since then I can't bring myself to eat a single donut.

Luckily for me, donuts do not tempt me at all. Nuts are great, but I need to work on portion control.

I've been eating alot of fruit and nuts, they help alot with cravings. Another way to help cravings is when you want something just close your eyes and imagine yourself shoving it in your mouth and down your throat and imagine how sick you will feel after, it helps for me :)

Wow, those donuts look great, especially as lunch time approaches. I'd willingly put an extra 2-3 miles on this evening's jog for one of those puppies right now :D

The nuts are definitely a good suggestion. I also use lara bars when I need a sweet treat - the cherry pie one is good and all natural. I also love mixing agave and olive oil with two cups of pecans and roasting them. Healthy (in moderation) but is a great snack to satiate my sweet tooth.

Girl, these are some good tips:)
I allow myself one sweet per week, and so far - so good! it really is only that one thing and it helps to drink water and have fruit. It also helps to remember how tired sweets make me feel:)
