Back to Being More Organized....

Years ago I used to be really good at keeping and following to do lists. I am actually a bit OCD when it comes to writing down lists, ideas, business plans, choreography, workouts and all manner of things. I also have sketches of clothing designs (the business I was in before fitness), grafitti, pages of business logos, doodles, random art work, short stories and a few books I started but never managed to finish.

I have notebooks and notebooks full of the stuff! In fact, I have a love of notebooks, and buy them in all shapes, sizes, colors and designs, and I also have a wicked fetish for writing in different colors. When multicolor gel pens came out a few years ago, I was like a pig in mud...I had every color and every brand. Heck, I just bought a new pack of them at the art supply store just last week, the metallic, irridescent kind! Every word I write with those is all shiny and gorgeous, glowing in the light! ;)

My notebook fetish in full effect. I have at least a couple hundred of these, some filled and some still waiting on me... I admit, I do have a problem! ;)

For me, opening up a notebook to a fresh clean page with a carefully chosen pen in hand is a very satisfying thing. I never get on the train without a notebook and pens in my bag. Having something to write on and with at all times is a must!
When I die and someone takes the time to look through all these notebooks, they will either come to the conclusion that I was a true genius, or either was stark, raving crazy! ;)

I sometimes forget what I put in these things! I did this a few years ago. I was trying to design my own tattoo. Never got the tattoo, but will end up doing something with this!

I have been so scattered lately trying to keep up with a million different tasks in different areas of my life. Business things, work related stuff, etc.

Work related stuff. Who knows when I wrote this. Notes for a step and kickboxing class...

Back to my to do lists! If I recall, they helped me keep things in my life more organized and I never missed a beat. Do 'to do' lists help you stay more organized, too? I used to keep one on the fridge, right next to a pic of Glady's Portugues' abs. Both helped me to whip everything right into shape! ;)

Yeah! I agree! I love making to do lists also. Although I may not have accomplished all of the things on my list, it presents me the things I missed and the things I already did. Fun right?!

I've been really bad lately. I write things down and then forget to do them anyway. I actually forgot to write the check for the mortgage this month and had to run to the post office this morning to get it in the mail. I hope it gets there before we get hit with a late fee!

I collected lots of notebooks and wrote in some of them. Now I have to find ways to give them away as they are taking up too much space and I am putting my writings online. :P

I certainly good to be organized; no chance to miss out anything when we have a to-do list.

I like "To Do" lists because once you write something down on paper, your brain doesn't have to keep working to remember it. A relaxed brain is good.

Oh yes, I'm all about the to do list :) And I love pens and notebooks too!

I love notebooks and journals. Something about the clean sheets and covers just amazes me. I start a lot of to-do lists, whether it is for a business idea, blog ideas, or my workout/diet schedule. But then, I notice that I do not follow them. My fetish for notebooks is not as bad as yours, but I do understand.

If you to-do list becomes another thing TO DO...then it sucks. I have found a simple notepad works best for me. day planners, even the calendar on my iPhone just end up taking too much effort

This is something that I need to get better at! So good that you do this!

There is nothing better than the satisfaction of crossing you last "To do" item off your list.

I am happy to see so many other OCDs out there!

Like you I have what I call my 'future folder' which has all my goals, magazine tear outs etc in categories such as career, personal development, fitness, fashion, and inspirational people. I turn to this every time I need a pick-me-up.

PS I love your sketches, you are very talented!

Those are really cute notebooks... I used to collect notebooks too... but not as many as you have... That's a really good collection... I've seen this store in the mall the other day, they are selling these really cute but pricey notebooks.. hehehe... Take care!

Nice to see your artistic side Diva... you got some talent. Where was that tattoo gona go?

Heh, maybe one day I'll get the balls to put up my sketches. But I need to pickup those metallic gel pens first ;)

As for to-do lists... well if someone ever looks at my smart phone, they'll be like "god damn... this dude is one busy mofo"

Unfortunately I suffer from the opposite problem. The few times I remember to make a list I forget to use it when I need it! In the case of shopping lists I of course always forget them at home!

I am a firm believer in keeping to-do lists. I'm not sure if I would know what to do if I couldn't check off things from my rather large to-do list. I definitely feel your pain with this one!

I write everything down in notebooks too! In fact I keep one next to my EZ Chair. It drives my wife crazy! I am also I big fan of to do lists. It really helps me to prioritize and stay on track. I need to work on the getting organized though. I have a million things going on and its hard to keep up with everything. I think I'll add getting organized to my to do list! Now, if I could just find my pen...

I have always been an organized person, but this past year I have gotten away from that. I can see how things in my life haven't been going the way they usually do and I am now getting back to my organizational ways. I make lists for home and for work. It's too hard to try to keep everything I need to know/remember in my brain. My life feels so much more in harmony when I have my lists.

I am the kind of person who needs to make lists all the time. I would forget my head if it wasnt screwed on. I even write lists for my chidren, which they hate. I can't help it. I am a list compulsive

I am an organized person myself, I really think so, but still I find it hard to follow to-do lists. In fact I'm not sure if I have kept one. I just do things one at a time, and finish them off without jumping off to another.

I LOVE to make lists...actually I love checking things off the list. I've been known to, on occasion, write detailed lists just so I can cross more things off the list. LOL
