How Are You Starting Off Your Fitness Week?

Me rockin' some kettleball squats. Like, forever....

So, I have plans to get in a run tomorrow, and work some legs. Wednesday will see me hit the heavy bag and do an abs workout with medicine balls, and some bench presses (which I've been neglecting lately. On Saturday, I'm doing hell rounds of boot camp with two crazy friends of mine. You think I'm crazy? No, these girls are nuts, and by the time we finish our little Saturday afternoon madness, I really have to go sit down....For like, a few hours!

But, as you see, I have my fitness week planned out.
Now, there are many times when I am spontaneous, and just grab the blades, or my tennis racquet and balls or do whatever comes to mind, but then there are weeks when I like to have a plan.
In life, there's the work week, the school week, and the workout week!
What do you have planned for yours? By the way, I'm still rockin' that kettleball, as you can see! Can't stop me, can ya?! :D

Wow.

How much does a kettle ball cost?

And do they make them durable in the outdoors?

Right now, because of our 20 month old son, I workout at home.

Hey, Paul...

You'd pay about $50 (brand new) for that one I was using there, but you can definitely find them cheaper on Ebay or elsewhere.

I call them kettleballs (since their design is based on that of kettlebells), but they're also called core balls and D balls.

Here's a link where you can see these and other similar weighted balls:

Perform Better

I think that these particular ones are durable and you can use them just about anywhere! :)

Thanks for the heads-up. I have been slowly, *but surely* getting up the motivation to start working out again. This blog is getting me inspired. Thanks!

Wow, you are SO inspiring me this week. I am going to work out right now. It's 8:40am here now, so it's the perfect time to get a workout in. Thanks for the morning reminder. Here I go! :)

I went to my belly dancing class yesterday and worked very hard. I will go swimming at least twice this week and stay away from pizza.

The Fitness Diva said...

Sounds like a damn good plan, Fashiona!
Belly dancing works up more of a sweat than some realize, too! :)

I hadn't thought of it as my fitness week, just a work week I had to get through, but you have inspired me to do something active every day this week! Thanks for the motivation, I certainly needed it!

Fab video and pics on the previous post Fitness Diva. It's always gratifying to see that the messenger exemplifies the message!

I'm going to try and pack some energy into my running around. I'm very busy this week (to free up most of the rest of the month), so I won't get much time to work out per se. But jetting around and taking the stairs when I can always helps.

I fell off for the past two weeks. With the travel and holidays I've made every excuse not to make it my business to go.

But I'll be heading over there in a few minutes. I wish the gym I'm heading to had kettleballs... Oh well... I'll be focusing on abs. I have to get back into this before the gym gets crowded in January.

Oh, Thanks for the great advice, Diva!

I have to make a plan right away! Though my plan is not a fitness one. :)

I've heard a lot of good things about the kettle ball. I'm going to put it on my list.

My routine is going very well actually. For now, I'm using the over-sized ball for a few floor exercises, doing some push-ups, at least 200 jumping jacks and riding my stationary bike for at least an hour.

I'm going to start running the hills again when I get in better shape.

Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Looking great, Diva!

You've inspired me to start up another blog--dedicated to weight training and fitness:

strongandfit.net

It's kind of scanty right now but I'll ad more content as I have time.

I've got a killer week at work and with other things, so I've planned my time for workouts too. I've got to get rid of the Thanksgiving dinner before I pack on the Christmas foods!

Core balls are great because the can add so much diversity to a work out. They are also great for working the abs and obliques, though I still prefer doing squats with freeweights.

LOL. I can't believe it. I just read about this kettlebell in Men's Health a few hours ago and now seeing you're rocking it here with it is just amazing (you doing exactly like these pictures in the mag!). How heavy the kettlebell is actually?

I need to start my jogging too. It has been a while now :)

I have really been making an effort not to eat too much during this holiday season. I've also started taking the stairs instead of the elevator. I'm easing myself back into the exercise. I'll get there.

By the way, you've been tagged. The details are on my blog diaryofastrongblackwoman.blogspot.com

Thanks for the inspiration in the blog and fitness world.

Try doing that with a 12 inch concrete block. That is what I do everyday for eight hours lol. But the kettle ball is a good all around workout. Keep on going Diva
